Rocco is finally on his journey to a new life

We were delighted that Rocco, who has spent 1,394 days waiting for his new home, finally left us to start his new life last weekend.

If we’d known that this beautiful boy was going to be with us that long would we still have taken him in? Absolutely!

It’s awful to think that Rocco spent at least 80 per cent of his life in our kennels, but he was happy with his life, it’s just his life is now a lot better.

Rocco leaving us, however, just made space for another dog to come in.

Alfie is not yet 18 months old and in the last three week has been passed around on Facebook from one home to another.

This poor boy never got the chance to settle anywhere and this has had a detrimental effect on his behaviour, and who can blame him? Having said that, in the short time he has been with us you can see him physically relaxing and he is turning into a sweet little boy.

We will be looking for a quiet home, with lots of company and a calm, relaxed environment.

Rocky is a stunning looking, long haired, German shepherd. He is seven years old and very people-friendly. He loves to play and is very good at fetch. He is strong on lead and can be nervous around other dogs.

We have taken some beautiful cats in too.

Snowball is a stunning looking Bengal with piercing blue eyes. She has a typical Bengal personality and would be best as an only pet.

Whisky and Ginger are two larger than life cats. Ginger is very loving and enjoys his home comforts, including his owner’s bed. Whisky is more reserved, but will still enjoy that extra bit of TLC.

Another larger than life cat is Sox, who is on a very strict diet. Ideally this boy needs to get out and about, and although he does have a little bit of ‘cattitude’ he could just be frustrated with his current living conditions.

Please do pop into our shop as it has some great Mother’s Day gifts, or even ‘thank you for just being you’ gifts.
