Rhoda braves the shave to raise £1,500
Berwick resident Rhoda West recently had her hair shaved in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Cross Inn, Paxton, hosted the Brave the Shave event and came up with local hairdresser Emily Jeffrey to do the deed!
Rhoda’s mum, Louisa, sadly passed away at the age of only 46 when Rhoda was just two days from her ninth birthday – so cancer charities have always been close to her heart.
On her fund-raising page, she wrote: ‘I remember trying on her wig – interesting look on an eight-year-old!
‘She was so very brave, so going bald for a while seems a very small thing in comparison.
‘Please give something if you can. Many thanks.’
Thanks to many people’s generosity, the total raised so far has now topped the £1,500 mark.
