Retirement home needed for Joe

We were joined this week by golden oldie Joe.

Joe is 13 years old and a Yorkshire terrier type. He was in pretty poor condition on arrival. His teeth were rotten and some were sticking out, his ears were almost entirely blocked due to infection, and his coat was greasy and unkempt.

For all his problems he is a happy little boy and went into the vet’s to have his teeth and ears operated on. We were told by his owners that he was having some house training issues, but since being in kennels he has been completely clean. We can only think living with two other large, unneutered dogs caused the inevitable marking.

This poor dog has been suffering for a long time so he now needs a retirement home where he can live out his days in peace. He is a lovely, friendly and affectionate little boy who will be a great companion.

Little Buddy is a tan terrier born in July last year – a typical terrier who is a whirlwind of fun.

Clawdia is a Bengal cross, just over a year old. She has some typical traits of a Bengal, being very chatty and loving to play. She was very unsettled by another cat in the house so we would prefer her to go as an only cat.

A pair of cats looking for a home, preferably together, are tabby Daisy, one-year-old, and Smokey, grey and white, who is six years old.

Smokey is very forward and immediately affectionate, but apart from Daisy, he does not like other cats. Daisy can be quite shy at first, but so wants to have attention.

We hope the weather is good next Saturday, May 28, for our Plant Sale and Open Day.

We expect to have a very busy day and will be open from noon until 3pm.

The entire back of the kennels is covered in a huge range of plants of all shapes, sizes and descriptions, for shade to bright sun, and all types in between.

Please check our website events’ page at for more details of some of the plants that will be on sale.
