Refurbishment at Cobbled Yard
The restaurant at the Cobbled Yard Hotel in Berwick has been refurbished.
A new menu focusing on local produce has also been launched this week.
“We’re very pleased with the fresh new look,” said owner Bruce Bannatyne, who took over the hotel with business partner Paul McPhail last September.
“We’ve opened up the windows to let people see in and out a bit easier, it’s been repainted and we have new curtains provided by Longbones.”
The new menu features plenty of local produce.
“I think the best way to describe it would be up market pub food,” said Bruce.
The hotel was something of a community hub under the previous owners and that is something Bruce and Paul are keen to retain.
“We believe in the importance of the community and want to be part of it,” he said.
There are more improvement plans for the coming months, including the bar, reception, toilets and the hotel’s five bedrooms.
In the meantime, Bruce would love to see any old photographs of the Cobbled Yard, especially when it was the Rose and Thistle. Email email@example.com
