By helping to double the number of donations made in the previous year, sponsors Go Outdoors, Berwick, have helped the 2016 Cash for Kids, Mission Christmas campaign to surpass all targets to become the most successful campaign in the history of the charity.

The Mission Christmas campaign has now raised more than £68,000-worth of gifts and over £20,000 in funds to buy specialist toys. With the support of Go Outdoors, the charity has reached 1,049 children around the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland.

Cash for Kids, the official charity of Radio Borders, provides a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children in local areas. Each year, it aims to raise thousands of pounds for grants in the charity’s surrounding areas, reaching over half-a-million children every year under 18 years of age.

Go Outdoors manager James Renton said: “We are absolutely delighted that through the partnership of Cash for Kids and Go Outdoors, we have managed to raise a phenomenal amount for the charity that makes such a difference to the community.
