A fortnight of action is being held between October 6-15, and all professional clubs will show their support over one weekend on Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15.

Clubs will be united in calling for an end to racism in football and society. Players in over 40 European countries are involved in similar events as part of FARE network against racism and discrimination.

Fairbairn said: “The Show Racism the Red Card campaign continues to raise awareness to the problems we still have with racism in football.

“The problems that are apparent in society are directly associated with the same issues in football and it is important that the Show Racism the Red Card organisation continues to do the good work it is doing and to be supported to do so.

“All players, management and staff are in full support of the campaign and continue to work alongside it to raise awareness of the implications of racism in football. We also feel that these important messages are broadcasted to our fans and to maintain our zero tolerance policy when it comes to racism.”

The campaign will continue to speak to all football clubs, the football authorities and the police to eradicate all forms of racist behaviour.
