The final ball of the last campaign had just been kicked when it was announced by the club that another three signings had been confirmed.

Captain Jonny Fairbairn, goalkeeper Kevin Walker and utility player Graeme Beveridge all penned new deals.

Fairbairn has signed a two year extension with Walker and Beveridge agreeing one year contracts.

The trio join defender Robert Wilson, midfielder Michael McKenna and striker Darren Lavery, who had all agreed new deals previously.

Fairbairn and Walker were both regulars in the first team last season, turning in 35 and 37 appearances respectively.

Beveridge had a run in defence towards the end of the campaign when the team turned in a string of impressive results to ensure their SPFL Division 2 status.

Manager Coughlin said: “I’m delighted to have been able to get these three players tied up for the new season.

“With contracts expiring at the end of May I’ll be continuing discussions with some other key players and will be actively working to get them signed up.”

Coughlin, who has himself signed a new two year contract, is taking on the role of manager on a full-time basis and says he is eager to get his teeth into the role.

“It’s a challenge, and one I am looking forward to, but I honestly believe a club like Berwick needs a full time manager if they are to progress up the ladder.”
