Samba Day at Lowick

Pupils from Tweedmouth West First, Glendale Middle, and St Mary’s Middle in Belford took part, as well as children from hosts Lowick First School.

Each of the schools has had 30 hours of tuition and the samba festival was arranged to showcase the hard work and achievements of the children.

It not only showcased their musicianship but enabled schools to work together in a joint project and give the children an opportunity to experience performing live music.

Darren said: “The schools had never performed together before the festival, and all the children and teachers involved really rose to the occasion and played very confidently in a 100-strong samba band.
