Prepare for winter at special event to be held in Berwick

As the cold weather bites and minds focus on trying to ensure homes are heated, a host of experts are ready and waiting to make the task easier.

Berwick Warm Hub, in partnership with the Royal British Legion’s North Northumberland branch, is holding a Preparing for Winter Naafi Break event at Berwick Voluntary Centre, Tweed Street, on Tuesday, November 7.

Community Action Northumberland will be on hand with a huge selection of winter warmers, including everything from cosy toe socks to free boilers and amazing energy saving devices to helpful tips.

There will also be special goodies, including a free raffle, bingo, a quiz and all sorts of games, with a selection of tasty treats on offer throughout the day.

Tea, coffee and cakes will be served between 10am and 11.30am.

A free lunch including soup and sandwiches will be offered from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Just call in and enjoy the fun.

Berwick Warm Hub is organising some training in dementia awareness and fuel poverty and energy on Tuesday, November 28.

The courses are free and will run from 10.30am to 3pm, including lunch, at Berwick Voluntary Centre.
