Police give talk to eager beavers

Neighbourhood police officers from Northumbria Police paid a visit to the 5th Berwick Scouts Group and gave a safety talk to a group of Beavers.

The youngsters, aged five to eight years, were keen to speak to PCSO Russell Stalker and Special Constable Alex Kerr who chatted to them about stranger danger and how to enjoy Bonfire Night safely.

PCSO Stalker said: “The Beaver Scouts kept us busy asking lots of questions about what neighbourhood officers do and how we can help them and their families.

“They had bags of energy and gave us an enthusiastic welcome and were very interested in how we work to keep their community safe.

“Some of the youngsters came away wanting to join the police when they grow up. Everyone had a fun visit.”

The 5th Berwick scouts is open to boys and girls and also includes cubs and beavers, operating from Palace Green Pavilion.
