Playground at Paxton House gets a revamp
The playground at Paxton House is undergoing some winter maintenance and will be re-opening to the public from April 1.
There will be some exciting new playground equipment arriving at the end of April to provide extra fun for children of all ages and abilities.
The Paxton House Trust believes it will be a fantastic addition to the playground’s current offering and complement the teddy trail around the grounds.
The historic property is celebrating the start of its new season on March 18, with first-day visitors in line for a discount. Visitors are being offered a 20 per cent discount on house tour tickets and a 10 per cent discount in the shop and tearoom for the day.
On March 19, from 2pm to 5pm, visitors can enjoy a landscape painting lecture and afternoon tea with Ola Wojtkiewicz, an art historian and senior curator of 16th and 17th century collections at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. She will consider a number of landscape paintings on loan from the National Galleries of Scotland.
Paxton House boat trips up the River Tweed will re-commence on April 5. The river boat ride gives guests an insight into the history and wildlife in the area and a chance to see the river from a different perspective.
Opening times are between 10am and 5pm daily. For more details, call 01289 386291, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.paxtonhouse.co.uk
