Plans for Spittal Point to be discussed
Plans for a phased development at Spittal Point will be discussed by Northumberland County Council next week.
Royal Carlton Estates, owned by Berwick businessman William Leith, has a long-established planning permission to build 136 homes on the site.
Its latest application asks for a number of conditions attached to the 2009 planning permission to be discharged which, the developer says, would allow an incremental approach so that the potentially large financial outlays required can be apportioned.
The application is being recommended for approval by the strategic planning committee on May 1 after being called in by local councillor Georgina Hill.
In an article published last week, it was wrongly stated the application had been approved when, in fact, it was only the discharge of one of the conditions which had been permitted.
