Plans clear another hurdle
Plans for an eye-catching new house on Castle Terrace in Berwick have met with no objections from town councillors.
The proposal is to build a modern, energy-efficient home that takes advantage of the views of the River Tweed and the distant Cheviots.
The steeply sloping greenfield site lies on the south side of Castle Terrace and to the east of No. 37 and has been vacant for a number of years.
Cllr Catherine Seymour, speaking at Berwick Town Council’s planning committee meeting, asked that it be noted that the highways authority had a significant concern which might be overcome with a change to the scheme, or the imposition of a planning condition.
Outline permission to develop the site was granted last year.
A final decision will be made by Northumberland County Council.
