Photographers are street wise

Street Photography was the theme for Berwick Camera Club's annual Panel Competition, and although there were colourful sets of photographs from many parts of the world, it was pictures capturing street life at Low Greens in Berwick that the judge, James Walker FRPS, placed first.

Second place went to Colin Smurthwaite, and third to John Tully.

The i newsletter cut through the noise

Following the competition, James Walker gave an excellent presentation on the history of street photography, beginning with an image taken in Edinburgh in 1859 and followed by many of his own pictures.

The camera club meets at 7.30pm, on Tuesdays, between September and March, in the Village Hall at East Ord.
