According to internal migration data nearly 10,000 people moved from Northumberland to elsewhere in the UK, the most recent figures show.

In fact, in the 12 months to June 2019, 9,414 people moved from Northumberland to somewhere else in the UK.

That’s according to internal migration data from the Office for National Statistics.

The most common place people left the area for was Newcastle upon Tyne, with 1807 departures in the year to June 2019.
