Rothbury musician aims to raise a smile - and a few quid for a good cause - with comedy song
and live on Freeview channel 276
James Tait has written ‘The Orange Peel Song’ and turned it into a fund-raiser for Rothbury House, part of the RAF Association.
“This is a cause close to my heart as I often work as an entertainer there,” said James.

“There were, understandably, some concerned comments about this on Facebook and then a couple of my mates rather cheekily challenged me to write a song about it, which I did.
“We thought a little bit of humour would be quite therapeutic at this time and would make light of the situation, although I am not, of course, condoning littering of any kind!”
He decided to release the song on the Bandcamp platform and donate all takings to Rothbury House, which overlooks the golf club.

Hide AdRothbury House staff are working on the community transport bus each Friday, delivering meals. They are also in contact with almost 350 vulnerable older people nationwide, making welfare phone calls weekly to check up on them and organise support where needed.
On a national scale, the RAF Association is running a project offering entertainment via Facebook. To date, these sessions have had over 470,000 views. Additionally, almost 200 food parcels have been delivered to ex-RAF personnel who are struggling to obtain groceries.
