Diamond delight for couple
Tweedmouth residents Harold and Katie Spain have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Katie was born and bred in the area, whilst Harold moved to Berwick with the rest of his family during the Second World War.
They got married at Tweedmouth Parish Church on July 25, 1959.
Harold, 86, was a coal miner, working for Whittle and Blackburn collieries, whilst Katie, 80, was an upholstress for Paxton and Purves and Fairbairns of Berwick.
She also made the purple robe for the Tweedmouth Salmon Queen that is currently being used.
The couple have three children, with Alyson and Christopher still living in the local area, and six grandchildren. They celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends at a party in their home.
