17 pictures of festive fun as Christmas officially arrives in Wooler

A performance of The Twelve Days of Christmas has helped to kick-start the countdown to Christmas in Wooler.

The cleverly constructed show by Glendale Festival and Friends was a highlight of the Christmas lights switch-on event at the market place on Sunday.

A farmers’ market provided an opportunity to stock up on Christmas presents and some Christmas cheer during the day, while there was carol singing from Glendale Voices and Cheviot Singers and story-telling for children in the fairy grotto.

Mulled wine, mince pies and hot chocolate helped to keep the cold at bay until the lights were switched on and Santa arrived.
