Pease Bay goes green
Pease Bay Leisure Park in Berwickshire has been awarded a silver award by Green Tourism, for its excellent and progressive contribution to the Green Tourism scheme.
Staff and customers at Pease Bay have been recognised for the demonstration of good environmental practices throughout the park. The team’s monitoring of resources such as energy, water and waste and also delivering projects such as regular beach cleans has also been noted.
The Pease Bay award follows a series of changes in the Verdant Leisure group’s practices, including parks’ shops selling reusable plastic bags and the installation of water loggers. All efforts have been made to contribute to preserving the unspoiled sites of special scientific interest and wildlife reserves, that surround all nine of the bespoke holiday park operator’s leisure parks.
In April 2018, Verdant Leisure joined Green Tourism, and each park was awarded bronze status. By joining the Green Tourism scheme, Verdant Leisure pledged its commitment to work responsibly, ethically and sustainably to contribute to the community, by reducing its impact on the environment and be more accessible and inclusive to all visitors and staff.
