The weekend kicks off with budding singers trying their luck at the open mic event, Talent on the Parade, organised by Chris Hardie.

Back again after a superb performance last year are Scocha, who will be performing live on Saturday night.

Their appearance last year was a huge success and the organisers are hoping that this year will prove equally successful with large numbers turning out to support Scocha and the charities involved.

The main event as always is Party on the Parade on Sunday, with lots of fabulous food, entertainment and a much larger selection of stalls than in previous years.

This year’s event has only been possible because of the very generous sponsorship from Tyne & Tweed, Mortgage Investment Services, Simpsons Malt and Olympus Marquees. The weekend is also being supported by Greaves, West & Ayre, Sanderson, McCreath and Edney and Jim Ford, of Fords the Bakers.

The organisers look forward to a weekend of fun and entertainment with the usual great levels of support from locals and visitors.

They are very grateful for the support and sponsorship they have received and hope to raise a lot of money for their charities.
