Parkinson’s open day to be held in Berwick
Charity Parkinson’s UK is holding an open day in Berwick on Thursday, March 14, for people affected by Parkinson’s in the area.
The meeting at Berwick Rugby Club between 1pm and 3pm will be an opportunity for Parkinson’s UK to find out what support and activities local people with Parkinson’s would find beneficial.
Parkinson’s UK is the leading charity driving better care, treatments and quality of life for those with the condition. Its mission is to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s through pioneering research, information, support and campaigning.
Vivienne Rogerson, area development manager, said: “These open meetings are the perfect opportunity for people with Parkinson’s to meet up and let Parkinson’s UK know what activities they would like provided locally. Support in other areas include exercise sessions, singing and dancing classes, as well as drop-in cafes, which we know are hugely beneficial to people living with the condition.
“The event is open to everyone living with Parkinson’s in Berwick, Wooler, Bamburgh, Kelso, Eyemouth and the Borders area, and we hope as many people as possible come along.”
