Our black beauties are being overlooked
We have some beautiful cats in at the moment, but they are constantly overlooked because they are either black or black and white.
Basil is a particular jet black beauty with the most amazing tail. We find him an affectionate boy, who loves a chat, but we are told he also likes his own space on occasions.
Kiwi, who was originally a stray, has very distinctive black and white markings with three black dots on her white nose. She’s a nice girl, who although understandably timid, is very loving once she knows you.
Then there is Harvey who has an inverted white V on his face; Jet (black) who is very affectionate and will, at coming up 12, make a quieter companion; Shadow, also black, and just a youngster at under four, as well as Smudge and Felix who are both black and white.
The colour theme tips over into our rabbits too, with Mildred, who is a lovely girl, and Rodney and Rita, although only Rita is black with an amazing fringe.
We have a couple of Parson-type terriers in the kennels. Barney and Bella are looking for separate homes.
Barney is a nice boy with some good basic training. He can be a bit vocal when new people come into his home and would prefer to be in an adult only house.
Bella is a more difficult dog who really needs lots of socialising around other dogs, although when on her own with human company she is a sweet girl.
Charlie the lurcher puppy is going to need a home that will work with his insecurities. Lots of training and socialisation will make this boy the great dog we know he can be, it just needs someone to acknowledge his faults and work with him.
Flynn is a fawn lucher, probably about four and such a gentle boy. He is good around the other dogs, although we suspect he has been used as a worker in the past so care around smaller types may be necessary. He loves to learn and just be around you knowing what is going on.
