Don’t drop it, pick it up
Today we visited Cocklawburn Beach near Berwick.
The purpose of our visit was to spend some of our Saturday cleaning up one of our local beaches.
This beach is by no means dirty to look at, but before long we had managed to fill two bags with cans, bottles, polystyrene, pieces of plastic, paper, cardboard and wood full of nails.
It just made me wonder, why drop your litter? Is it so difficult to take it home or pop it in the nearest bin?
It also made me think that if every time someone goes for a walk, what if they picked up some of the litter they came across, instead of thinking ‘well I didn’t drop it’?

In closing, I would like to urge people to be part of the solution, not the pollution, and don’t drop it, pick it up.
