Chivalry is not dead
Through the pages of your column, I would like to thank the two people who offered to assist me last weekend after my car got stuck in the mud at the far end of Spittal, on the cliff road.
The first, with his two dogs out walking, offered to help with his white van, and the second, much later as my husband arrived and staggered up the cliff road in the dark, with only a shovel.
Sean, who was walking his dogs and driving his 4x4, noticed our predicament. He produced a long towing rope and pulled my mud-drenched car out in a jiffy.
We all arrived home safely.
A huge thank you to them both. The age of chivalry is not dead.
