Not a warm welcome
I find it remarkable that as Berwick is in decline, with shops closing at increasingly regular intervals and difficulties raised about the development of a new Premier Inn designed to bring tourists into the area, on the one sunny day we have experienced in Spittal for some considerable period of time, with many visitors on the beach and facilities well used, there emerges a posse of traffic wardens, who I am sure issued many tickets.
I have lived in Spittal for 16 years and have never seen one.
Add this to the fact that the council wants to close Sandstell Point, reducing parking facilities further, and it is a far-from-warm welcome to current and future guests.
Do we really want to succeed?
