Norham Platoon remembered on VJ Day

Andrew Grahamslaw, pictured with his daughter, Julia, laid a wreath at Norham war memorial last Wednesday on behalf of his uncle Govan Easton to commemorate VJ Day, the ending of the Second World War in the Far East.

Govan, 97, is the last surviving member of the Far East Prisoner of War of Norham Platoon Z Company 9th Battalion The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. They were captured in Singapore in 1942.
