No plans to reduce staff
Virgin Trains' investment in Berwick-upon-Tweed Station will lead to an improved environment as part of a Â£140million programme to improve customer services across the East coast route.
Plans have been submitted to Northumberland County Council which will see the existing ticket office relocated to its original location at the station, creating a one-stop shop for customers to purchase tickets and seek advice about their journey.
The area will be bigger, more conveniently situated on the concourse and with better facilities, including to purchase tickets.
We’d like to reassure your reader, Robert Steward (Berwick Advertiser, January 25), that there are no plans to reduce the number of staff or make it more difficult to access advice and help, as he fears.
