New U3A groups are blooming

Every year, new groups begin at Wooler U3A, reflecting the changing and developing interests and skills of more than 100 enthusiastic members across Glendale.

Two new groups (Geology, led by Ann Phillips, and Wine Appreciation, led by Ann Love) have been fortunate to receive small starter grants from the Public Health Pilot Project of Northumberland County Council, which aim to “Encourage a sense of community and increase mental and physical good health”. In another new group, gardening, topics have been many and varied including visits to Crook Hall, Bide-a-Wee and Jane Lovett’s gardens as well as talks on Alnwick Garden and Japanese flower arranging.
