New town map is installed
A new map of Berwick installed in the town centre has proved an instant hit with visitors.
A group of Italian tourists, pictured, made good use of the map just minutes after its installation last week.
It has been designed by Berwick historian Jim Herbert, and produced by Fantasy Prints.
It was commissioned by Berwick Deserves Better and funded by Active Northumberland.
The map is on the back of the digital community noticeboard which was installed on Marygate earlier this year.
The digital noticeboard was funded by Berwick’s Portas money.
There is a second board at the entrance to the Castlegate car park.
They have proved a valuable promotional tool.
A spokesman for Berwick Deserves Better said: “The boards are proving to be very popular and well used by local community groups, as well as advertising sporting fixtures.”
