Chairperson Jane Pannell said the new name would reflect the group’s evolving geographical focus.

“Our old name reflected the former borough council as our area of operation and we need to move forward and relate to the current geography – so we’ve chosen North Northumberland Voluntary Forum as the name which best explains the area we cover now,” she said. “It’s also the name of the North Northumberland Network which we host on a quarterly basis.”

In addition, the forum will be changing its logo.

“We would like to ask local students to help us design our new logo,” said Jane. “This new logo will feature prominently on our website and throughout our social media platforms and will be used extensively in our publicity and promotional campaigns. We hope this will be of particular interest to students who are studying a design-related subject but, of course, it is open to all.”
