New inductees into Berwick Cricket '˜Hall of Fame'
Berwick Cricket Club held their second '˜Hall of Fame' dinner in the Black & Gold last week when the late Archie Veitch and Bill Renton were inducted.
Without Archie there may have never been cricket in Berwick after the Second World War. Archie got BCC going again, starting with one team before having enough players for two.
In 1957 Archie became club president, a position that he held until his passing in 2000 - an Incredible 43 years in the role. The club and committee would like to thank Hugh Veitch for attending on Friday night to collect the Award on Archie’s behalf.
Bill dedicated a large part of his life to Berwick Cricket Club, both on and off the field. The annual service to the club award is named in his honour, that alone speaks volumes for the work that Bill put into the club. The club and committee would like to thank Ann Renton and her family for attending on Friday night to collect the award on behalf of Bill.
