New homes found, but more needed

We're giving advanced warning for Marfyn's Massive Plant Sale on Saturday, May 28.

A pet show and fun day was held at Castle Hills Farm in Berwick.

If you came along to last year’s plant sale, you will definitely want to make a note in your diary.

We will also have a kennel open afternoon, and we have confirmed the date for our annual pet show, in fact our tenth one. Once again it will be held, with thanks to Well Hung and Tender, at Castle Hills Farm, on Sunday, August 28.

It has been a busy couple of weeks at the kennels, with lots of animals going to new homes, but their spaces have quickly been filled.

At the time of writing we have two of the lurcher pups, both boys, still looking for homes. They are very sweet natured and keen to please.

Another sweet boy is Turner, a two-year-old shih tzu. He has had problems with other dogs in the household and is fearful of men, but what a cuddly boy he is. A quiet home will give Turner time to settle, build his confidence and help him enjoy life.

We have two older cats looking for homes – Spikey, a tabby, and Fudge, who is grey. Both are super friendly and love a chat. Fudge loves nothing better than to nuzzle into a neck for a cuddle.

We also have a few pairs that would be nice to keep together – Whiskey and Ginger, Spritzer and Suki are beautiful black, white and gingers, Fluffy and Lucky are three and nine months respectively, and Sox and Tubby.

With the weather improving, we hope people will consider offering a home to one of our super bunnies. We have a couple of pairs, as well as lots of singles, including Funny Bunny, Gail, Beau and Parsnip.

All the bunnies are very inquisitive, and love vegetables and being out on the grass. Like a lot of rabbits, they are not keen on being picked up, but once up, secure and settled, they mainly settle down for a cuddle.

Sheldon, the python, soon found a home, but Bo the Bearded Dragon is still looking. He is very well handled and loves being out and about.
