The prayers are not like ordinary prayer meetings or worship services. Instead of coming together to talk to God, the community gathers together to listen. Instead of talking about Scripture, the Scripture is read and left to speak for itself in the silence. By singing simple songs of prayer over and over again, the mind calms and the soul opens up: God speaks, the heart listens.

In Glendale, this form of prayer and worship will be echoed on March 12 at 6pm at St Gregory’s Church in Kirknewton.

The theme for the service will be Lent – On the Road with Jesus. This is an ecumenical service, so if you have faith – or not – come along and find a peaceful and reflective space in our challenging times.
