New chief marshal set to be installed
The sashing of Berwick's new chief marshal will take place on Saturday evening in the town hall.
There will be a parade to the Guildhall at 5.45pm where a reception will be held.
The identity of the new incumbent is kept secret until the event.
However, Berwick Riders Association has revealed that it has a full line-up of three principals in place for the year.
Last year, chief marshal Lorraine Fiddes and left hand man Ed Swales attended ride-outs without a right hand man.
Lorraine will take on the role of left hand man this year with Ed stepping down after his three years of service.
The association’s main event is the Riding of the Bounds on May 1, when around 50 horses and riders are expected to take part in a 15-mile ride around the town’s ancient boundaries, maintaining a 400-year-old tradition.
