Musicians on tour with new album

One of the UK's finest acoustic Americana, bluegrass and country bands is heading to Spittal on Saturday.

Friday, 2nd November 2018, 11:29 am

Jaywalkers has been delighting audiences for more than 10 years, taking its exciting, inventive and virtuosic brand of Americana up, down and around the UK and Europe.

Jaywalkers’ three musicians have developed a tight bond, demonstrated through their well-crafted arrangements and ability to bounce ideas around the stage.

The combination of powerhouse bass, flame-fingered mandolin, blistering fiddle and three-part harmony packs a punch as fiery as Jay’s lead vocals and makes a fuller sound than expected from an acoustic trio.

The tour has been arranged to promote the group’s fourth studio album, Time to Save the World.

Featuring 10 original songs (and a Johnny Cash cover for good measure) its new music plays on the strengths of each member, all encompassed by Mike’s musically crafted and lyrically perceptive songwriting.

Its sets on Saturday night will be an eclectic mix of old and new songs, with a strong emphasis on the material from the new album.

The band will be on stage at 7.30pm, at Berwick URC Hall, Spittal.
