Mousen Bends still a council priority
Northumberland County Council has told Highways England that the A1 Mousen Bends should be a priority for future funding.
The issue was raised by Coun Gavin Jones, member for Berwick North, at the council’s north area meeting.
Afterwards, he said: “I raised with officers whether there had been any progress from the Government with respect to bringing forward the dualling of the A1 at the Mousen Bends. No additional budget has been provided by the Government for this stretch of the A1.”
Safety improvements north of Ellingham are still scheduled for next year with the preferred routes for dualling between Ellingham and Alnwick due to be announced later this year.
