Morrisons backs Armed Forces Day

Morrisons in Berwick is supporting Armed Forces Day.

From June 19-25, staff in its Pie Shop will be baking British Chunky Steak Pies, where a donation of 25p per pie will go towards Walking With The Wounded.

The Chunky Steak Pies will be freshly baked and sold from the store’s Pie Shop counter. The pies will cost £1 each or £1.90 for two.

Morrisons stores with a café will also be offering a free hot drink in their cafés for serving military personnel and veterans.

The free hot drink will be on offer for seven days (June 19-25) during café opening hours. To claim their free hot drink, serving military personnel and veterans simply need to present their Defence Privilege Card at the cafe.

A Morrisons spokesman said: “We’re proud to support Armed Forces Day and to thank serving military personnel and veterans for all that they have done for our country. We hope that the money raised will help Walking With The Wounded to provide vulnerable veterans’ independence through employment.”
