Merger adds up to growth

Two accountancy firms have joined forces.

Chartered accountants Douglas Home & Co, which has branches in Alnwick, Haddington, Kelso and Hawick, has merged with Dickson & Co.

The team and services from Dickson & Co will move over to Douglas Home’s office in Haddington.

Robin Dickson decided to hand over the baton to Douglas Home following a period of illness last year.

Alan Drummond, managing director of Douglas Home & Co, said: “There is a natural synergy between the two businesses, which is evident in the work ethic and the ethos of both companies.”

Douglas Home & Co was established in 1983 and now has five branches.

It offers all aspects of accountancy and taxation services from compliance tax, bookkeeping to specialist tax planning and more recently, wills and estates, as well as IT support.
