Man airlifted to hospital after crash near Eyemouth

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near Eyemouth yesterday afternoon.

The 30-year-old man was involved in a collision with a camper van on the A1107 School Road, south of the town, just after 3pm.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service. The paramedic and doctor crew treated the patient on scene before flying him to Edinburgh Roal Infirmary for onoing treatment.

The rider of the black Yamaha MT had leg, possible chest and pelvic injuries which were described as serious. He was stable on arrival in hospital.

The male driver of the Mercedes Sprinter camper van was uninjured.

The road was closed for three hours as initial police investigations were undertaken.

Inspector Richard Latto of Lothians and Scottish Borers’ Road Policing Unit said: “This was a serious collision and we are eager to speak to anyone who may have information.

“I would asked anyone who was on the A1107 near to Eyemouth around 3pm on Wednesday, March 8, and witnessed this collision, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
