Many held non-uniform days, offering pupils the chance to wear something spotty or perhaps turn up as a superhero for the day.

Others, such as Longridge Towers, also had cake sales and face painting which helped raise more than £1,000.

Headmaster Jonathan Lee was among those joining in the fun by having his face painted along with head of PE Mr Wilkinson.

Mr Lee also kindly offered to raffle ‘swap a lesson’.

The LTSDA is now getting ready for its Christmas fair on Friday, December 2, from 2pm to 3.30pm. It is asking for donations for the adult tombola and would appreciate as many pupils as possible bringing in a mystery jam jar/s filled with sweets/goodies and wrapped in Christmas paper for the junior department stall.
