Long-service awards for Vision Express team

Matthew Cooper, Nadine Moore, Alison Shearer and Kirsty Thompson put the Marygate store well and truly on the Vision Express map, when they each received awards for 20 years of loyal service to the company.

Assistant store manager, Kirsty, said it was great to be recognised and see so many people coming together to celebrate the evening.

“We had a really lovely time.” she said. “The food was delicious, and we all enjoyed dancing it off throughout the night. It was really great to spend a fun night with the team.

“All four of us started on the same date – Hallowe’en 1998 – and we’ve been together ever since. We’re really lucky that we have a stable, hard-working and supportive team.”

The long-service awards is an annual event to reward employees who have achieved 15 years of service or more. This year’s event recognised 88 team members who marked milestones totalling 1,690 years

Two people celebrated 40 years of service, five people reached their 30-year milestone, 12 marked 25 years with Vision Express, 25 individuals achieved 20 years in employment at the company and 44 members of staff celebrated 15 years of service

Vision Express HR Director, Kate Glasby paid tribute to the long-serving staff.

“Our employees are what makes our company the success it is today, and we are delighted to recognise their loyalty and hard work.” she said.

“We’re very fortunate to have such dedicated and experienced staff who really make a difference every day and, as we celebrate the company’s own 30-year milestone, our thanks and congratulations go to each and every one of them.”

The awards evening was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham.
