Lights get switched on in Berwick

A small crowd watched the lights being switched on at the Christmas tree at Berwick town hall on Saturday afternoon.

Berwick Christmas lights switch on.

Mayor Gregah Roughead was joined by councillors, church leaders and members of Berwick Riders Association and Berwick Male Voice Choir.

Earlier in the day, a successful Christmas fair was held in aid of the Mayor’s charity of the year, Berwick Cancer Cars.

Coun Roughead thanked all those who attended the fair and switch-on.

A number of Christmas lights switch-ons are being held over the next few days.

Beadnell’s lights are being switched on tomorrow at 6.30pm at the Bullring, with festive refreshments at the WI Hall from 7pm.

Belford’s switch-on is on Saturday at 4pm.

Wooler’s switch-on is on Sunday with a Christmas market in the bus station from noon and lights switch- on at 4.30pm.
