Lifeboat coxswain retires

Berwick RNLI coxswain Raymond Karolewski has retired after 14 years at the helm and 32 years' service for the charity. He took the all-weather lifeboat on exercise for the final time last Friday, joined by many of the crew.

Hazel Bettison, Berwick RNLI press officer, said: “We will all miss his happy smiling face, he has been a great leader and put many a crew member through their paces to be able to save lives at sea. We wish him all the very best in his retirement from everyone at Berwick RNLI.”
