Flint, who recently made his debut with Marmande in the French National League, has now agreed a partnership deal with Polish Ekstraliga side ROW Rybnik, which will see him sign for the club on his 16th birthday.

Flint was introduced to over 1000 Rybnik fans at their season opening gala presentation on Saturday evening.

The partnership will allow him to fly out for unlimited practice and use two bikes which the club will provide for him when he is racing on the continent.

Father Gary said: “It was a nice weekend and a real eye-opener on how things are done in Poland. If this weekend doesn’t drive Leon to get to the top nothing will.”

A delighted Leon said: “This partnership is going to be so good with my world and European Championship hopes. Having a club like Rybnik supporting me means a lot.”

The announcement came on the back of Flint being named as the Berwick 2016 ‘Junior Sports Personality of the Year’ winner. This was in recognition of his second British title and his sixth place in the FIM World 250cc Championship.
