Latest news from Wooler U3A
At the most recent Wooler U3A general meeting, member Colleen Marriott spoke about her role as the North Northumberland, Berwick and the Borders contact for Compassionate Friends, a nationwide organisation for bereaved parents and their families.
Colleen explained that Compassionate Friends has existed for more than 40 years and local contacts, like her, are there to support parents who have lost a child of whatever age, and from whatever cause, for as long as needed.
In the next few weeks, there will be an informal meeting to gauge the level of interest for a new painting group.
The Art Appreciation Group will have a talk about Two Modern Landscape Painters.
The Culture Group will share favourite poems, stories, music, films or plays for winter or Christmas, and the Film Group will be showing Florence Foster Jenkins.
Members who want to stay well and have fun as the weather gets colder will be enjoying the weekly Table Tennis and Carpet Bowls Groups, or the monthly Walking Group.
