Latest news from Border Archaeological Society
The Border Archaeological Society lecture programme resumes after its summer break on Monday, September 5, when Myra Giesen, lecturer at the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at Newcastle University, will give a talk entitled Bioarchaeology.
At present, Dr Giesen, who says she is an anthropologist at heart, lectures on human osteology. Previously, she led the module on mortuary archaeology.
Her lecture will focus on what we can learn from examining skeletal collections.
Proceedings commence at 7.30pm in the parish centre, The Parade, Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The event is free to members and there is a £2 charge for visitors.
