Latest news from Berwick Youth Project
On Wednesday, June 29, Berwick students Charlotte, Natasha and Sophie were honoured with the presence of the Mayor and former High Sheriff at their Arts Award Exhibition at Berwick Youth Project.
Their art works included sculpture, paintings, photography, silk paintings and other textiles, such as felt.
Former teacher to the group Bryan Langley said: “The exhibition was marvellous. It was both engaging and challenging, colourful and sombre. The thought behind each piece and the quality of work was exceptional. David Hockney would have been impressed.”
Pictured here, they received their certificates from The Key for successful completion of stage one.
They developed many skills by taking part in The Key through the process of application for funding for their project. They initiated and planned a visit to Edinburgh to research their exhibition and then put it on for family, friends and invited guests.
They would like to thank Berwick Youth Project for its continued support during their studies. They would also like to thank MH Southern and Company for its support in providing materials for the presentation of their work.
