Latest news from Berwick Wildlife Group

Once again, a good audience at the William Elder Building heard an interesting and informative talk.

The subject was Northumberland Trees, and the speaker Richard Poppleton, of Alnwick Wildlife Group.

He sensibly assumed no great level of botanical expertise from his listeners, but by the end of his clear and well illustrated presentation, we all felt more likely to be able to at least start to put a name to some of the more “difficult” species we might encounter.

Our next indoor meetings, at the William Elder Building, at 7.30 pm, are as follows:

Wednesday, March 16: Looking for Ladybirds by Cathleen Thomas, of Northumberland Wildlife Trust.

Wednesday, April 20: Plant surveying for the Botanical Society of Great Britain. Chris Metherell will explain how we can become involved in contributing to a national flora for 2020.

All are welcome.

In addition we plan to have walks around Berwick, looking at notable trees. Details to follow.
