The meeting was opened by president Jackie Hamblett asking for a minute's silence in respect of the passing of WIA Julia Davidson and our past president Sheila Cassidy.
A really fun Games and Quiz Night was organised by Ann Easton, and members from other institutes in the region joined in and tackled the challenges.
Judging the Easter Bonnet competition was no easy task for Rose Morrison as there were some delightful creations.
First prize was taken by Joyce Thornton, with Jacqueline Smillie in second place, and Tina, secretary of Cheswick WI, coming third.
The Easter-themed buffet table looked wonderful and the food was certainly good enough to eat.
Then it was time for the important marking of the quiz and games’ scores.
Isobel Scott came out on top, with Margaret Bayne, from Belford WI, in second place, and Elaine Wood in third place. Jessica Spencer-Barry took the booby prize.
The winner of the monthly competition, this time for an item beginning with the letter ‘L’, was Sally Hardie with her llama, which had actually been purchased in Peru. Second place was taken by Isobel Scott, with her lifeboat tea towel.
