The business meeting in May was opened by Mrs J Smillie reading the WI Creed.
Several members had attended the Flodden group meeting, hosted by Cheswick WI. They all enjoyed the evening and agreed that the speaker and supper were excellent.
The Northumberland Federation is organising a visit to Northumberlandia in June, where we will meet members from all over the county.
We discussed this year’s resolution, which is Mental Health Matters. It asks members to recognise the importance of parity between mental and physical health. Mrs R Le Feaux will be our delegate at the National Annual Meeting, held in Cardiff in June, where she will vote for us on the motion.
Norham WI has invited us to its meeting on Thursday, June 7, and also to its anniversary and craft days later in the year.
Mrs M Wood’s decorative door handles were first in the competition for something beginning with ‘D’, and Mrs A Easton’s dice came second.
After the raffle we enjoyed a variety of quiches and salads prepared by Mrs A Easton, who was thanked for her hard work.
